Hair Transplant Surgery

Hair transplants can in many cases be effective and help to fill in gaps where hair has been lost due to scarring, Most common areas for hair transplants into scars are the eyebrows, beards and the head. At The London Scar Clinic we use two forms of transplantation methods, these are FUE and FUT, together with your surgeon the most appropriate method will be discussed and decided upon.

Is a hair transplant into a scar guaranteed to work?

Unfortunately there is always a chance the transplanted hair will not take and therefore this is not a 100% guaranteed procedure.

How soon will I see the final results?

From the day of treatment it takes approximately four months for your new hair to begin to grow, after this initial period your hair will then continue to grow at your normal rate. Due to these two factors the end result may not be fully noticeable until approximately eight months post procedure.

How long is the procedure?

Each transplantation surgery is unique to the individual and the time involved takes into account many factors such as: The area being transplanted and the number of grafts required to be extracted and implanted. Typically, hair transplantation to the head can be anywhere between 4-8 hours.
