Greg Williams is the only member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) who performs hair transplant surgery on a full-time basis. He has 18 years of experience in hair restoration not only for genetic male and female hair loss, but also for reconstruction post trauma and burns scarring.
Greg is the past President of the British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery (BAHRS) and is passionate about standards and regulation. He advises the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP), the Cosmetic Practice Standards Authority (CPSA), the British Standards Institute (BSI) and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) on matters to do with hair restoration. He has chaired the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) Ethics Committee, sat on the ISHRS Best Practice Committee as well as the ISHRS ad hoc Committee on Regulatory Issues, and is the current chair of the ISHRS Guidelines Oversight Committee and Subcommittee on European Standards.
Greg regularly lectures at aesthetic conferences and is part of the faculty at the University College London’s Plastic Surgery MSc program. He has been on the faculty of several ISHRS Annual Scientific Meetings and chaired the ISHRS Basics Course which teaches international doctors new to the field of hair transplant surgery. He has also been invited as operating faculty at European and World Live Surgery workshops.
He participates in hair related research, collaborating with Imperial College, and has been the recipient of several ISHRS research grants. He has published widely on subjects to do with hair loss and hair restoration.
Greg was awarded the ‘Fellow’ status by the ISHRS in 2014, which recognises senior hair transplant surgeons around the world and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) the only recognised qualification in this field globally. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the ABHRS and a member of the Board of Governors of the ISHRS.
